Concert Review-Corinne Bailey Rae
Friday August 12th Corinne Bailey Rae performed her unique style of Jazz/Pop and R&B at Dallas House of Blues. Ms. Rae hit the stage ten minutes early for her 9PM scheduled show. It seems as if she was just as anxious to get the show started as was the full house crowd. She did not dissapoint.
She performed music from all of her albums, including her new hit single "Green Aphrodisiac." Corinne Bailey Rae has always been a prolific song writer, but her on stage presence has increased in confidience over the years. (I've been a fan and have followed her from the very beginning.) She creates a vibe on stage that flows over the audience and seems to have a lot of fun soaking up the love from her audience in return. Her musical performance is sweet, but there also seems to be a little bit of underlying heartbreak in her songs as she sings about heartbreak and loss.
After her hour and a half on stage she came back, to the delight of the audience, for one more song, Just Like a Star, an appropriate finale for the night for this bright and up coming young star.
