Tina Turner Turns 77

Tina Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock on this day in 1939, is an American-Swiss recording artist, dancer, actress and author, whose career has spanned more than half a century. Born and raised in the Southeastern United States, Turner obtained Swiss citizenship in 2013 and relinquished her American citizenship.
After she split from a successful career with her former husband, Ike Turner, she rebuilt her career through live performances. In the early 1980s, she launched a major comeback with another string of hits, starting in 1983 with the single "Let's Stay Together" followed by the 1984 release of her fifth solo album Private Dancer which became a worldwide success. "What's Love Got to Do with It", the lead single won three Grammy Awards including Record of the Year.
