Movie Review-A Dog's Purpose
A Dog's Purpose is based on the 2010 novel by W. Bruce Cameron. The movie tells the story of a devoted dog who lives several lifetimes and keeps coming back as a puppy, with a new owner, and who has lessons to teach and learn about his purpose for existing. The story is told from the dog’s perspective (voiced by Josh Gad) and also stars Britt Robertson, KJ Apa, John Ortiz, Juliet Rylance, Luke Kirby, Peggy Lipton, Pooch Hall and Dennis Quaid.
A Dog's life surprised me. I was expecting a silly little film, geared toward families, that would just keep the kids entertained with the dog's silly antics. Instead I got a very inspiring movie with a story that had a lot of lessons about life and some of the things we take for granted. I liked this film very much.
The movie is a perfect family film. It's funny and sweet and teaches lessons about life that we could take from the life of a dog. (Spoiler alert) So what is a dog's purpose? To help people when they are sad. To protect the members of you tribe. To love and to be loved and finally, and most of all, to have fun! Lessons that we'd be well advised to take from the life of a dog.
A Dog's Purpose is rated PG for a few intense scenes and on my "Hollywood Popcorn Scale" I rate it a JUMBO! Hollywood Hernandez
