Black Panther Still #1
With an estimated $41.1 million, Black Panther topped the weekend box office for the fourth straight week in a row. The new contender for the top spot, A Wrinkle in Time, finished second with domestic receipts of $33.3 million. Both are Disney Studio movies.
Internationally Black Panther opened in China with $66.5 million pushing the Marvel Superhero film to over $1 billion in box office receipts worldwide. Black Panther is the fifth film in the Marvel Comics Universe to reach that number and is just shy of cracking the top 20 of the biggest grossing movies of all-time. The amazing part of the story is that the film has hit these monster numbers in just four weeks in release.
This weekend Black Panther, which has been taking on all comers, will be challenged for the top spot by a new adventure movie, a rebooted version of Tomb Raider.
