Black Panther #1 for 5th Week in a Row
For the fifth weekend in a row Black Panther is the weekend's number one film at the domestic box office, becoming the first film to accomplish that feat since Avatar in 2009. The film also becomes only the seventh film to ever gross over $600 million at the domestic box office as it continues to dominate, and is now less than $18 million shy of topping The Avengers and becoming the highest grossing superhero movie of all-time.
Black Panther sold an estimated $27 million in tickets domestically this weekend to top new comer Tomb Raider, which brought in an estimated $23.5 in its opening weekend in the United States. The Disney and Marvel Comics movie also added an estimated $30 million internationally this weekend, pushing its overseas cume to $577.1 million for a global tally of over $1.183 billion.
