The second annual EarthXFilm Festival is going on now through Sunday, April 22nd at Dallas Fair Park. Besides films, the festival will feature outdoor music from Texas bands and artists on the Fair Park Music Stage. Artists include Austin bluesman, Black Joe Lewis and the local Dallas band Medicine Man Revival. The shows are free with your $5 movie admission pass.
The Festival also includes lectures, food, family friendly events and, of course, movies.
The festival, formerly known as Earth Day Texas, spotlights films that are environmentally focused. Films include a movie called BANGLADESH, a film that focuses on the ways the people are dealing with climate changes causing the water to rise in that city, a local film called, DON'T FRACK WITH DENTON, which is a story of a grassroots effort to stop fracking in the city of Denton, and LIONS OF WEST TEXAS, details how researchers are gathering data on the big cats which have been living on the mountains of West Texas for centuries.
