Frame4Frame Festival Returns to Arlington

September 16, 2018

Featuring local Dallas area filmmakers The Frame4Frame Festival returns to The Studio Movie Grill at Lincoln Square (452 Lincoln Square, Arlington). Along with movies, the festival will include local artists and musicians. The Festival kicks off with a free concert at J. Gilligan Bar at 400 East Abrams on Thursday 9/20. The festival, which runs from 9/21 through 9/23,  will also feature local artists showing their work at The Arlington Museum of Art (201 W. Main St., Arlington).

According to Festival organizer, James Hawthorne, the festival will include a wide variety of films that "celebrate a full array of films here along with the powerful stories that they tell." Each night the festival will feature "blocks" of movies which include both full length and short films.

The full-length films include "Edge of the World" the story of a coach who leads a group of troubled kids while he's battling his own crisis of faith. Saturday night's feature is called "Poor Greg Drowning", a romantic comedy about a man who goes into a deep depression after he loses his girlfriend (to her therapist) and his job.  After scaring off all of his potential roommates with his manic behavior he eventually finds a roommate and becomes romantically involved with her.

Closing down the festival is a movie that will surely generate a lot of audience discussion, from local filmmaker Reginald Titus Jr, called "Natural Hair The Movie." The film is a documentary that explores the struggles of hair identity told by women of color. The movie's producer and director, as well as members of the cast, will be in attendance for a Q & A after the film. Check out the trailer to "Natural Hair" at:
