Movie Review-LITTLE

LITTLE is a movie with something for everyone. It's a comedy with plenty of laughs. It's a story that deals with bullying in school and what it's like to be a 13 year old in jr. high, in case you forgot, but mainly it's a very pro-black woman movie that teaches the lesson of friendship between two women and how they support each other to help each other succeed.

Of course, there have been other "out of body experience" movies like BIG and 13 AGAIN but LITTLE puts a very funny twist on the genre. It was hilarious! I howled with laughter all the way through the movie. And while the trailer gives away a great deal of the movie, there is still plenty that will surprise you and make you laugh.

The movie's executive producers is 14-year old Marsai Martin, from Plano, TX, who pitched the movie to GIRL'S TRIP producer, Will Packer, after seeing the movie BIG. The first time movie actress stars in the TV show "Black-ish." She's the youngest executive producer in movie history.

Regina Hall plays the grown-up version of Jordan, a take no prisoners boss who is mean and nasty to everyone she comes in contact with. Issa Rae plays April, Jordan's overworked and underappreciated office assistant. After being bullied by Jordan a little girl, whose father has a snack truck outside the office, casts a spell on the mean executive wishing she was little so she could get put in check. The next morning Jordan "The Executive" wakes up as the 13-year-old version of herself and has to go back and try and correct the things in her past that have made her so evil today.

LITTLE is a hilarious film that does not disappoint. In the end, April comes to the rescue of her boss and Jordan finally learns how to make a friend; if you want to have a friend, you've got to be one. The movie is rated PG-13 for a little sexy talk and has a run time of 1 hour and 49 minutes. It's a movie you'll want to watch more than once (as soon as it was over I was ready to see it again).

On my "Hollywood Popcorn Scale" LITTLE gets my highest rating, A JUMBO WITH EXTRA BUTTER." Go see it. You will love it!
